Short-Term Skills Training

Program Description

The needs of the community and employers are constantly changing so we strive to offer timely and relevant short-term courses focused on specific skills. Working closely with industry partners to ensure that our courses are relevant and valued has allowed us to create and/or acquire a wide range of course content to serve our community. In general, these courses fall into two broad categories: Instructor-led and self-paced.

Instructor-led Courses: Whether in person or online, these courses have a set schedule and meeting time, are led by a qualified instructor, and are a good fit for those who work best in a more supportive setting. Examples include in-person small engine repair boot camps and our new online entrepreneurship courses.

Self-Paced Courses: Online and available for you to access and complete on your schedule – you decide when you interact with the course. The upside is that we can make more content available, the downside is that you don’t get the same real-time instructor support. Examples include self-paced versions of our entrepreneurship courses, digital literacy, and English language skills.
